Paragliding in Nepal

Paragliding in Nepal is the fantasy of every adventure lover: the country offers an abundance of picturesque landscapes with green valleys, snow-capped mountains, white jets of water, and clear blue sky, makes paragliding in Nepal an experience worth doing at least once in a lifetime.

One of the most favorable paragliding spots in Nepal is Pokhara. With natural thermal flows and the absence of strong winds, paragliding in Pokhara is possible from November to April. Flights start from the observation deck, located on the top of Sarangkot hill, a 20-minute drive from Pokhara. The height of the hill is about 1600 m above sea level.

In addition to Pokhara, there are other popular places for paragliding n Nepal such as Kot Danda valley which is also a scenic spot for paragliding. Phulchowki is another attractive destination for paragliding in Nepal. Often cited as the valley of flowers, Phulchowki is the tallest green hill from which adventures can soar and glide across the sky.

Another beautiful location for paragliding is Chapakharka as you take off from 2100 meters above sea level. The area is abundant with lush greenery, extensive vegetation, and pollution-free air.

Bandipur is another popular paragliding destination in Nepal with breathtaking views. You can view Mount Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and Annapurna mountain range.

For beginners, paragliding in tandem with an experienced instructor is available. In a tandem paragliding flight, the pilot or the instructor flies with a passenger secured with separate harnesses that attach to each other and the paraglider’s wing. The straps are comfortable and safe; they are more like a chair in the sky. After takeoff, you just relax and enjoy the epic scenery.

Paragliding in tandem does not require special knowledge and experience. During the flight, you just have to follow the instructions of the pilot. The unpredictability of thermal showers does not guarantee a completely accurate paragliding flight time, so the expected duration is approximate. However, the pilot will do everything to ensure that your flight is as long as possible.

The average cost of paragliding n Nepal begins from 8000 NPR per person for 20-30 minutes of paragliding.
